Data Link - Message in a Bottle
Data Link is a voluntary scheme aimed at reassuring the household that
essential information is readily available to the Emergency Services,
There are currently over 20,000 of these bottles in circulation throughout the Greater Peterborough area
How Does It Work ?
The idea is simple -
Fill in the form with your personal details (these include your allergies, blood group, photo, doctor, emergency contacts, etc).
Pop the form in the bottle and place the bottle in the fridge door.
Put the sticker on the inside of your front door (this makes it impossible to see from outside the house).
This alerts the emergency services to the presence of your details, thus saving valuable minutes.
The police will be able to contact you should there be a break-in, and Fire
and Ambulance crews will know what treatment you are able, and not able to

Most household have a fridge, but are you aware that a fridge is one of the few item that rarely gets destroyed in a fire ?
By putting the bottle in the fridge, you are not only securing the contents but are alerting the Emergency Services to it's presence and location.
